Step back into a bygone era on your trip with Atlantic Rail for a unique experience on a refurbished vintage steam locomotive.
The majestic old steam train of Atlantic Rail will make its way from Cape Town to Stellenbosch and back again. The duration of this trip is approximately 7 HOURS.

Spier has been a family wine farm since 1692, boasting a fascinating history and has evolved with the times to become popular with locals and tourists alike.
In addition to enjoying a tasting of Spier’s acclaimed wine range, there are diverse places to dine, including a pre-booked farm picnic or deli self-select picnic which can be enjoyed on a walk through the farm.
If luxury is more to your taste you are welcome to enjoy a spa treatment, dine at the hotel restaurant, visit their artisan studio, and stroll through the gift shop.
For the adventurous you will have the opportunity to meet the Monarchs of the bird world with the ever popular Eagle Encounters.

Passengers are free for about 4 hours to explore the wine farm, dine at the farm’s restaurants or enjoy its abundance of pleasures. The train then returns along the same route back to Cape Town.

The proposed times for the YQ as follows:
09:40 – Departure from Monument Station
11:00 – Arrival at Spier
15:30 – Departure from Spier
17:00 – Arrival Monument Station

The Cape Wineland is one of the Cape’s biggest attractions. The wineries of Stellenbosch lie along the majestic cape fold mountains, and boast a history of more than 300 years .
One of the most unique ways to see the countryside is aboard a vintage steam train.
